projects
Our passion and drive have been instrumental to the success of numerous projects both domestically and all around the world.
All of those projects have different characteristics, different background stories and different specific requirements.
But each and every one of them embodies our whole experience.
They are all unique.
From industrial hangars to high-bay warehouses, from bold suspension bridges to glass skyscrapers in the world’s largest cities, we have realised more than 2000 projects over the years.
The following selection showcases our various areas of competence.

Steel structure for four halls during ongoing plant operation
As part of its “Strategy 20-30”, thyssenkrupp Steel Europe has replaced its more than 25-year-old casting and rolling plant in Duisburg-Bruckhausen with a new continuous casting line and a modernised hot strip mill, one of the largest investment projects in the company’s history.
For this project, PICHLER projects fabricated, supplied and installed the steel structure for four hall complexes, including crane runways: specifically, the rolling mill hall, the motor hall, the walking beam furnace hall and the SGA4 hall, as well as various stair towers and connecting platforms.
The existing rolling mill hall was built over while operations continued to minimise downtime. The new hall was therefore constructed above the old one, which was subsequently dismantled.
In total, PICHLER installed around 4,045 tonnes of steel: 1,435 tonnes for the rolling mill hall, 1,210 tonnes for the SGA4 hall, 1,200 tonnes for the walking beam furnaces and 200 tonnes for the motor hall. The crane runway girders, secondary crane runway beams and columns were fabricated in execution class EXC3, while the remaining components were produced in EXC2. The heaviest individual component was a crane runway girder measuring 30 metres in length and weighing 40 tonnes.
