projects
Our passion and drive have been instrumental to the success of numerous projects both domestically and all around the world.
All of those projects have different characteristics, different background stories and different specific requirements.
But each and every one of them embodies our whole experience.
They are all unique.
From industrial hangars to high-bay warehouses, from bold suspension bridges to glass skyscrapers in the world’s largest cities, we have realised more than 2000 projects over the years.
The following selection showcases our various areas of competence.

Cable car station
Where steel crystals open views of the Alps
Following a fire in 2018, a new cable car was built near Chamonix, completely redefining the view of the Aiguille des Grands Montets. The focus is no longer purely on transport, but on the mountain experience itself. The architectural design was developed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) while PICHLER projects realised the innovative steel structure for the mid-station and mountain station.
As the architectural highlight, a 20-metre-high cube integrated into the slope was built at an altitude of 3,235 metres. Its steel structure reflects the geometry of pyrite crystals. In total, the mid-station and mountain station consist of 300 crystal modules, each measuring 2.5 x 2.5 x 1.15 metres.
The high altitude, wind gusts of up to 260 km/h, permafrost and a short construction season of just four months presented the project team with challenges. There was also no water or electricity supply available on the mountain. A dedicated construction cableway provided significant relief, reducing the number of helicopter flights required.
